To Whom It May Concern:
This letter is written to recommend an exceptional realtor, Shelley Perez.
My wife and I decided to relocate to Oregon in late summer of 2005. At that time the housing market was still in full swing and we weren’t at all concerned about selling our home in Menifee. We had already bought a home in Oregon that was to be constructed and would be completed in May of 2006.
In just a couple of months, however, there was a major change in the Southern California housing market and our complacency about selling our Menifee home in a timely manner and for a decent price began to erode.
Fearing that our house could be like the hundreds of other homes in the area that were on the market, but not selling, we decided to list the house in January and be prepared for the potential of waiting for weeks or even months to find a buyer and expecting to have to accept an offer of less than asking price.
Fortunately, we chose the right real estate agent to represent our property. Shelley and I independently came up with an asking price that was within a couple of hundred dollars. (In the past I’ve encountered agents that would overstate what they said they could sell a property for in order to try and get the listing). She also developed a strategy to get our home noticed and to attract buyers’ agents.
Everything worked! Within two days of the for sale sign going up on the house, we had two offers, both of which exceeded the asking price. With competing buyers interested, Shelley suggested that we counter offer, and the end result was a selling price that was nine thousand dollars above asking.
I’ve got to believe that our choice of Shelley as our agent had a whole lot to do with our success story. If you’re looking for an agent, we would heartedly suggest her.
Sincerely,
Jim and Linda French
